Oscar Flores Sida, MS, NCC, LCPC, LCADC, CPGC, is a nationally certified counselor, tenured professor, and licensed clinical supervisor with over 15 years of experience in mental health, addictions, problem gambling, and human services. His expertise spans intensive outpatient, residential, and acute inpatient settings, where he has provided psychotherapy, clinical supervision, crisis response, and program development.

Roberta Miranda-Alfonzo, Ph.D., CPC, LCADC-S, NCC, ACS, is a professional counselor, clinical supervisor, educator, and researcher with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, addiction counseling, and counselor education. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling with an emphasis in Counselor Education and Supervision from Oregon State University and received her first state-approved clinical supervision credential in 2006.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, he specializes in neurodiversity, chronic illness, couple functioning, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive services for LGBTQ+ and Latino/a/e communities. Federico brings experience in clinical supervision, graduate teaching, and integrated behavioral health. Trained in Bowen Family Systems Theory, the Gottman Method Levels 1–3, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, he has published and presented nationally. He also serves on the Board and Education Committee of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy

Maribel Del Carmen has more than 20 years of experience in psychotherapy, education, training, and mental health promotion. Her professional career has developed across clinical, academic, community, and educational settings, integrating a humanistic and person-centered perspective. She is a graduate of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas – UAZ) and has training in Psychology and Gestalt Therapy. Her clinical experience includes providing psychotherapy at Hospital San José de Zacatecas and the UAZ University Clinic, where she had the opportunity to support individuals through a variety of emotional and psychological concerns. In the academic setting, she served as an instructor for the course Communication at the Inter-American University for Development (Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo – UNID), Zacatecas Campus. She also collaborated with the Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social – STPS), providing training courses related to psychology, communication, and human development for professionals across different business sectors. Her experience in mental health promotion and prevention includes collaborating with the Zacatecas Health Services, particularly in health promotion and prevention programs. In this role, she facilitated workshops on positive parenting, family communication, and the prevention of mental health concerns in schools and community settings. She is currently continuing her clinical training in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she is completing a professional internship in clinical counseling under supervision. This experience has allowed her to broaden her intercultural perspective and further strengthen her work with individuals and families through a professional, compassionate, and culturally responsive approach that honors each person’s unique context and experiences.

My name is María Salguero, and I am a bilingual Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (CPC-I) in the state of Nevada. My clinical approach is humanistic and person-centered, guided by cultural humility, respect, and ethical practice. My work focuses on supporting adults and older adults navigating experiences related to trauma, identity, grief, and immigration. I believe that every person is unique, which is why I tailor the therapeutic process to each client’s individual needs, strengths, and cultural context. My goal is to provide a safe, trusting, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen their resilience, and move toward greater well-being. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish, creating an environment where language is never a barrier to receiving meaningful care. I strive to ensure that every client feels heard, understood, and represented by integrating culturally responsive practices that honor their identity, experiences, and values. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at UNLV. My professional development is focused on expanding access to Spanish-language mental health services and promoting clinical practices that are ethical, culturally responsive, and attentive to the needs of Spanish-speaking communities.
